Ceramics

In clay, I work primarily with stoneware in atmospheric kilns, creating wheel thrown altered functional ware. I like to play and bring a new definition to traditional forms. I am interested in time and the effects of time: rusted metals, distressed woods. The glaze in its application, combined with the touch of an atmospheric kiln: gas reduction/ wood soda/ salt, produces imperfection: a weathered finish unique to each piece.
